About Thomas Fraser : Medical pioneer. Born and educated in Aberdeen. During the First World War he served in Egypt, Gallipoli and France in various medical capacities, attaining the final rank of Acting Colonel, with five ‘mentions in dispatches’. Fraser was involved in the discovery of insulin as a treatment for diabetes. Between 1937 and 1938 he served as President of the British Medical Association. He died in 1951.
